The number of marriages of foreign citizens in Georgia willing to marry Georgian citizens increased twice since 2009. In 2009, 20 foreigners married Georgian citizens, this year the number of registration of marriage with foreigners in Georgia doubled - 57 such cases are recorded in the Civil Registry Agency.
To be noted that among foreigners most popular is the Sighnagi marriage house. The Justice Ministry simplified the marriage registration procedures for Georgian citizens as well for foreigners.
The people willing to marry foreign citizens need not anymore the special permission of the Civil Registry Agency.
