The liturgy dedicated for 33 years of enthronization of Cathalicos Patriarch of All Georgia will be held today in the Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi, the GHN reports.
Illia Second (Ghudushauri-Shiolashvili Irakli ) in 1956 accomplished the Moscow seminary. In April 16 of 1957 he was accepted as monk in the temple of the St Alexander Nevsky under the name Ilia, in honor of the Biblical saint Ilia. In 1960 he accomplished the Moscow seminary. After the accomplishment of it , he returned to Georgia and was appointed in the Cathedral temple in Batumi. In 1961 he became archimandrite. From 1963 to 1972 he was in Mtskheta holy seminary in 1967 moved to the Abkhazian cathedra, in 1969 he became a Mitropolite.
In December 23 of 1977 Ilia Second was elected as a Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia. Enthronization was held on December 25 of 1977.
