Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili congratulated Georgian Catholics with Christmas. Mikheil Sakshvili was attending the mass in Catholic Church on the Leselidze street.
"I would like to congratulate with Christmas all Catholics. For me it is a very big honor to talk with you. I would like to wish to all of you happiness, success, and God bless you. Georgia always was a multicultural country that tolerated all kind of faith. But representatives of all confessions have one in common: this is a love to Georgia, belief in God, and belief in our future, "- Saakashvili said.
He recalled the meeting with Pope Benedict XVI; he said that unconditionally upholds the Georgian independence and territorial integrity.
"This is very important as the talks are about the religion that is spread very widely in the world. For this I would like to thank the representatives of Catholic Church, its support is very important for the future of our country, "- He said.
