Nika Gilauri, Prime Minister said in 2010 Georgia was in the center of international politics.
"This year was very important, moreover the country conducted successfully elections, all international organizations noted this fact, and they recognized the elections in Georgia were fair and just. We passed new constitution and despite of the attempts of Russian Federation to make Georgia isolated from the international community, the result was radically different - we appeared in the center of international political events. The summits conducted during the year and the number of bilateral meetings of Mikhail Saakashvili is the evidence for this, "- Gilauri said summarizing the passing year.
For the next year he said the 2011 will be the guaranty for stability. "The 2009 was crisis year, the 2010 was post crisis year and 2011 will be the guaranty for stability. " He discussed the future relations with Russian Federation, he noted they are depending upon the Russian Federation. How the relations with Russia will be developed this question is up to Russia only. The sharpest message was the peace initiative of Mikheil Saakashvili. We are ready to start negotiations with Russia; however it is up to Moscow how they will use this suggestion. So what is to be expected in 2011 in connection with Russian Federation the Russia has to decide itself, " - PM said.
