Georgian vice premier continues his official visit to Vilnius. Giorgi Baramidze has already held meetings with Lithuanian prime minister and vice speaker of the parliament.
Aim of the visit is deepening cooperation between the two countries for purpose of integration into Euro Atlantic structures. Lithuania is OSCE chair from 2011 and it also is NATO`s ally embassy in Georgia.
Lithuania is one of the first among Georgia`s friend countries, which objected to the occupation of Georgian territories by Russia and intends to play a significant role in regulation of Russia-Georgia relations.
Lithuania also intends to assist Georgia in signing free trade agreement with EU.
Giorgi Baramidze is visiting Lithuania with a honorary status. In 2006 he was awarded Commander`s Cross by president for his contributions made to Lithuania.
The vice premier`s visit to Lithuania coincides with the 20th anniversary celebration of Defenders of Lithuania`s Liberty.
