It is already fifth year as the situation in the world in terms of freedoms is getting worse, the Freedom House concluded in its annual report. "The authoritative regimes are trying to suppress freedoms in much country more and more, "- the report "Freedom in 2011" reads. The organization evaluated 194 countries in this respect among them the conflict regions of Georgia. Abkhazia has a status of partially free and the South Ossetia has a status of unfree territory. In 2010 the freedoms decreased in 25 countries and two of them were deprived of a free state status. Those countries are Ukraine and Mexico, they are in the list of partially free states. Arch Puddington, Director of research department noted with the regret that Ukraine was the only state (except of Baltic states) in the post soviet area that was estimated as a free state, this sates is lost now. In connection with Georgia he said that some progress in freedoms is noticeable in Georgia, but this country still is a partially free state. "Internal political situation in Georgia improved, that was considerably decreased after the 2008 August war, "- Christopher Walker, head of scientific department of Freedom House said in his interview with radio Liberty. At the same time the Freedom House noted that oppressive regimes are getting stronger in Russia, China, Egypt, Iran and Venezuela.
