Audronis Ajubalis, Foreign Minister of Lithuania, chairman country of OSCE said in the course of Lithuanian chairmanship in OSCE he will try to resolve the conflict in Georgia with diplomacy and work under the restoration of OSCE mission in Georgia, GHN reports.
"Our main obligation should be a resolution of existing conflicts in the post soviet area through negotiations and peaceful means, Ajubalis said in OSCE headquarters yesterday. - He underlined that OSCE will be estimated according to its actions but not the declarations only. We will claim the restoration of negotiations in the format 5+2 in the Moldova question. Concerning Georgia we will exploit Geneva negotiations for restoration of trust and we will work under the restoration of OSCE mission in Georgia. As well during Lithuania's chairmanship the Belarusian group will be actively promoted for negotiations in Karabakh."
Talking about the elections processes he said that is it necessary to provide with the freedom of public gathering, the equal access to the media and the freedom of speech "fearless of being beaten, imprisoned or died." He expressed his concern over the refusal of Belarusian authorities to prolong the OSCE mission in Belarus regardless the recognition of the Presidential elections in this country as undemocratic and unfree. " I am caling to review this decision."
Lithuania is a chairman country of OSCE in 2011.
