Demur Giorkhelidze, expert in economy said the reason for the increase of prices for the petrol and products of first consumer except of the objective circumstances are invoked by the monopoly and by the fact that business is not free.
"It is natural, the increase of prices are invoked by the objective reasons, these are the processes outside the country and the increase of the prices for non-industrial products. This is a reality and it is natural that to the economy of such country as Georgia is, that depends totally to the imported goods even in the food products, this will be a very negative factor. Nevertheless the subjective factors exists as well they are the problems inside the country : the question of competitiveness , the existence of monopoly and accordingly very unfree position of the business. Those are the subjective reasons affecting the increase of prices for the products of first consumption. After the grave administrative measures the business acts very cautiously. What about the goods of vital importance, they are imported by the influential groups mainly, who are not strained by anything, " - Giorkhelidze said to GHN.
At the same time expert said one more factor in current state of affairs plays the excessive activity of the government in the business . He said for overcoming of the existing problem it is necessary to activate the private sector in the business.
