The Russian Federation is ready for the direct dialogue with Georgian colleagues in the PACE. This declaration was made by Constantine Kosachov, chairman of RF delegation in PACE. Summarizing the PACE session Kosachov said that the Georgian side's positions were not upheld by PACE and this is an evidence that the assembly should emphasize humanitarian aspects of the conflict but not the political once. The political aspects, he believes should be continued in Geneva. "We are ready to participate in discussions at PACE. Should be stressed that since 2008 PACE reviewed the Georgian-Russian relations at every session, " - he said. For the past two years the relations were discussed 5-times. The first discussion was held in October of 2008 and PACE asked Moscow to abolish the decision for the recognition of independence of S.O. and Abkhazia taken by Moscow. Last time the relations were discussed in April of 2010.
The PACE refused twice for the last two years the deprivation of voting rights for RF delegation because of the August war.
