Eka Beselia, leader of the movement for United Georgia said the resolution of the PACE in connection with the European Convention of Human Rights is a consequence of irresponsible attitude to this question of Georgian government.
"After the Georgian state joined the ECHR it became the inalienable part of our legislation. It has a direct legislative force in our country. Nevertheless for the Georgian government, for the executive and judicial systems it remains distant and unknown. The irresponsible attitude of these bodies is a consequence of the corresponding report of the PACE. As well a huge number of cases in the European Court of Human Rights against Georgian government, "- Beselia said to GHN.
Beselia agrees with the resolution of PACE in connection with the inconsistency of the Georgian legislation with the European Convention of Human Rights. This is a violation of the convention signed by Georgian government and the violation of the articles of the Convention. "From the other point of view we have a Judicial system that is dependent upon the political will of the government. The consequence is the overloaded cases in ECHR, "- Beselia said.
For information the PACE listed Georgia in the list of countries that are in violation of the ECHR and the legislation of which is significantly inconsistent with the Convention.
