The Labor Party addresses to the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe. The party states that Georgian people cannot reconcile with the monoparty ruling and repressive democracy.
This was stated today at the briefing by Nestan Kirtadze, International Secretary of the Labor Party. Now is a time to except a resolution from Venice Commission concerning the Elections Code amendments, which are actively initiated nowadays by government-loyal opposition parties which are willing to continue the elections farce in our country.
In this view the Labor Party sees it to be necessary to establish in our country the multiparty democratic system and replacement of existing government. The Labor Party calls the Venice Commission President to get introduced with the Labor Party's elections principles and initiatives. They believe that without those initiatives no fair elections are possible in our country. They stated that participation in elections process should be obligatory for all citizens, the majority system should be abolished (which is a source for elite corruption); the elections commission should be staffed on the principle of parity; the opening of elections boxes should be allowed under necessity; the elections disputes should be decided by the appellate commissions which will consist of international organisaitons.
The Labor Party addresses with this demand to many international organizations, they will send this statement also to USA State Department and to Hillary Clinton.
