The questioning of the Russian party continues at the European Court of Human Rights in connection with the case
Georgia v. Russia, concerning the mass deportation of Georgian citizens on ethnical ground. The trial started about two hours ago. During the day the Court will question 6 witnesses - the Russian militia high ranks and migration service employees.
The Georgian party will as well pose questions to Russian witnesses. The questions, - Tina Burjaliani, Deputy Justice Minister said - will not be easy to answer. "We have an opportunity to pose them questions they will not be for them easy and they will be in difficulties to answer them. The Russian witnesses will get in troubles trying to annul the Georgian party's proofs, "- Burjaliani said to journalists.
The ECtHR will continue the questioning of Russian party's witnesses tomorrow on February 3. According to the preliminary information tomorrow the Russian Consul in Georgia will be questioned (who was on the post in 2006). From February 4 the Court will hear the independent experts.
For information, in Strasbourg Court of Human Rights the hearing of the case against Russian Federation is pending. The case touches question of 2006 mass deportation of Georgian citizens from RF on the ethnical ground. During two days Court questioned several victims of Georgian party.
The European Court of Human Rights in connection with the case Georgia v Russian Federation questioned Mathias Yiorsh, PACE monitoring committee speaker and Giorgi Tughushi, Georgian Public Defender Except of the citizens deported form RF in 2006, Zurab Pataridze, Georgian Consul in RF at that period, was questioned.
