Gia Bughadze, Rector of Academy of Arts elected as a chairman of Painters' Union. Among the possible candidates for this post were Guram Tsertsvadze, Gia Gugushvili, Gogi Gurspashvili. Before the end of a ballot Gia Gugushvili refused from participation in favor of Gia Bughadze.
The candidates for chairmanship presented special programs before the session. The election happens unanimously. Former chairman Gia Jamberidze resigned 5 month ago. For several month the Painters' Union was without a head.
