Georgia is on the blade and is ready to risk for entering the EU, Tornike Gordadze, first Deputy MFA said to GHN.
"Behind negotiations between EU and Georgia positive results will follow. It is necessary to take into consideration potential difficulties. We are afraid that our Labor Code and agriculture will not endure the competition with Turkey, this may cause a smash of our economy. In such case it is impossible to make popular the European ideas among Georgians. Nevertheless we are ready to risk if we will get agreement for entering EU, even if the process of entering will not be too speedy, "- Gordadze said in his interview with IRIS.
He said the EU advises before posing the question of EU entering to "realize in full achievements of United Europe".
"We are told: "realize maximally in your country achievements of United Europe, but this does not mean that the entering will be guarantied. At the same time the Georgian government has social and political risks. Our actions have a high price that we have to pay in 2013. Baltic states despite of many difficulties managed to keep liberal attitude in the society but how will it possible here?" - Deputy Foreign Minister said.
