As much Russia will be inadequate towards own citizens and its neighbors, as higher will be pressure over Russia by EU bodies, - Davit Darchiashvili, Chairman of EU Integration Committee said to journalists, commenting the passing of resolution by EP against Russia.
"This resolution has a political impact as well it has some kind of legal force to attract attention of Russian Federation to mass human rights violations, " - Darhiashvili said.
He noted the EU has tools which can be used if the situation will not change very soon and radically to the better. "Factually this is a notification to Russian Federation that it may become a subject for sanctions. It is natural that this is a painful subject for Russian Federation, but as much the Russia will be inadequate with its own citizens as higher will be pressure over it by EU institutions, "- MP noted.
For information, in Strasbourg the EP passed a strong resolution about the "Supremacy of law in Russian Federation".
Several Curt trials and the legislative insufficiencies put under suspicion the independence of Justice System in Russian Federation, - the resolution reds.
