Now the South Caucasian people are facing danger as it was long before. Foreign Minister Grigol Washadze said this being in Washington at the conference "USA strategy in South Caucasus and Caspian region" in Strategic Research Center.
According to the Foreign Minister despite of the fact that in South Caucasus no danger of military intervention exists, the political confrontation risk is high enough. Minister said USA are mostly interested with own problematic, and Russia is interested in strengthening of own positions in South Caucasus.
"Do we like it or not, Russia is a part of big Caucasus and no doubts it provides own national interests there. We wish only that Russia pay respect to our national interests, and that the South Caucasian people would be able to restore own independence and sovereignty without outer intervention," - Wahsdze said.
He said we are prisoners of own wrong visions that all negative events are connected with the third country.
