In the process of modernization of the country the most difficult process is not an economy or politics but the modernization of the mentality, David Bakradze, Parliamentary Spokesperson said to GHN.
"The government conducts different reforms for the modernization of the country. Basing on our experience the most difficult is the modernization of the mentality of the society but not the politics or economics, "- Bakradze said taking floor at the 55-th sitting of UN on Women's rights.
He mentioned the gender balance subject, underlining that in April of 2010 new legislation was passed on the gender equality and the work is conducted in this direction.
"The fulfillment of the UN resolution 1325 on "Safety and security of women" is very important on the background of our territory's occupied circumstances as we have 500 refugees most part of which women are. They are subject of violence. For the prevention of the violence and defense of the human rights the Georgian government developed an action plan for the defense of right of victims of violence," - Bakradze said.
