The Soviet Empire did not wish we remember this day. It did everything for deleting from our memory events of this period, Saakshvili said taking floor at the Occupation Museum.
"All those who refused to forget were expelled from country; others were deprived of truth history. The history pages were withdrawn from books telling these sad facts. Instead the fictional story was suggested. The evil irony of the Empire lead to the celebration of the February 25 as a day of entering of our Republic to USSR. But nobody said at this time that the red flag of Communists was painted in red by the blood of young Georgian heroes who died for the independence of own country. This flag was under the corps of young Georgian Younkers. Nobody tells us that this day was the occupation day of Georgian Republic and the day of killing its statehood.
The event attended the successors of Noe Jordania, head of the first Georgian government and members of Younkers family.
