USA Finance Ministry declared about its intention to freeze USD 30 bn in bank accounts of Muammar Qaddafi, Libyan President, GHN reports.
The decision about freezing of accounts was taken on February 25 but no exact sum was declared, Blomberg reports.
The decree about sanctions against Libyan President was signed by USA President Barak Obama. David Koen, Representative of the Finance Ministry said this amount of money was a biggest one in the history of USA. He as well said he is not informed in how many banks the money were kept.
On February 28 EU declared about sanctions against Qaddafi. The decision about freezing the actives of head of the country and his surrounding and banning from entering the EU will be in force in the nearest future. Day before the UN took a decision about the banning for Qaddafi from leaving the country and ban for the sale of weapons to the country.
