For the abolition of the narcotics transit over the occupied territories of Georgia, it is necessary to introduce the international monitoring of the international community, Davit Darchiashvili, Chairman of the parliamentary committee for EU integration said, GHN reports.
Darchiashvili said in estimation of the report of the USA State Department that the Georgian authorities cannot control over the occupied territories and this is well known for everyone. The only way in this situation is to allow the international monitoring.
In connection with the general fight against narcotics traffic, Darchiashvili believes that Georgian authorities reached a success. Nevertheless still much work is to be performed.
For information, the USA State Department's report said that Georgia is a main corridor for the transit of narcotic substances. The report reads that over Georgia the drugs are coming from Turkey and Greece crossing Western Europe. It was noted that the drugs may cross Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region which are not under the control of Georgian authorities.
