Not only the danger of the narcotics turnover exists on the occupied territories but as well the illegal trade of weapons, Lasha Tordia, MP said GHN reports. "We more than once said that the narcotics transit is performed from the occupied territories of S.O. and Abkhazia in many different directions including Europe. Such danger will exist always when there will be buffer zones and its accomplice Russian Federation. The danger is not only for our country but as well for the world, "- Tordia said commenting report of USA State Department.
"These territories are used as black holes for the narcotics traffic. These are black money and the buffer zones are created namely for this purpose. It is very easy to transit a big amount of narcotics over such zones to any part of the world, "- Tordia said. He believes that the report of the USA State Department is based on the information provided by Georgian side.
He said the narcotics traffic over the occupied territories once more proves that it is necessary to restore the Georgian Jurisdiction on these territories. The same problem was in 2003 in Pankisi valley, but after the Rose Revolution the problem was extinguished.
For information, the USA State Department indicated in its report that Georgia is one of the main corridors for the transit of drugs. The transit is performed over the occupied territories which are not controlled by Georgian authorities.
