Today on November 23, 6 years passed since Rose Revolution. As a result of the Presidential elections in January -March of 2004 the president of the country became Mikhail Saakashvili, Parliamentary Chairwoman Nino Burjanadze, and Prime Minister - Zurab Jzvania.
The Parliamentary elections of 2003, November 2 were the reason of disagreements from the opposition and big part of the electorate. With the demand of annulment of the elections results the protest actions were hold in front of Parliament. The organizers of protest actions were the political party of Mikhail Saakashvili, "National movement" and the political party "United democrats".
The existing government refused to review the elections results. The demands of the protesters became more radical; they wished a resignation of Eduard Shevardnadze.
On November 22 at 16:00 as usual the Parliamentary sitting was appointed. The sitting attended Eduard Shevardnadze as well. At about 16:15 protesters with the leadership of Mikhail Saakashvili invaded the building. The body -guards of Shevardnadze took him out of the building.
After the taking the buildings of Parliament and State Office the protesters moved in direction of Presidential residence in Krtsanisi. On Sunday on November 23 after the meeting with opposition leaders (Burdjanadze, Saakashvili and Jzvania behind the closed doors), Eduard Shevardnadze declared about his resignation.
Supreme Court of Georiga declared the November 2 elections results as a nul and viod.
