The Georgian party cannot ask for political questions the Russian Federation in turn for the WTO membership. Irakli Qavraradze, first deputy of chairman for Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Relations said - it is not acceptable deriving from the nature of the WTO to pose a question about the Russian army withdrawal from the occupied territories.
"This is a World Trade Organization and we cannot demand the political questions, our demands are to be only of economic nature. Such questions are - the positioning of the Georgian customs officers at the Psou and Roki customs check points, as well the striking off the embargo imposed by RF, " - Qavtaradze said.
For information, the first round of negotiations for WTO membership between Russian Federation and Tbilisi was held on March 10. To be noted that the initiator for the negotiations was Russian Federation. Nevertheless Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said Russia can join WTO without Georgia's consent.
