Mikheil Saakashvili, President of Georgia met with USA Senators in the frames of his visit to USA. He met first of all with Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the USA Senate. Later Saakashvili met with Joseph Liberman and John Mc Cain. John Mc Cain is well known with his strong expressions against Russian Federation. After the bilateral meetings the parties held a broader meeting. After the meeting John McCain said to journalists that Georgia has to obtain the defensive weapon and his aim is to reach this goal.
"We discussed many questions among them the supply of defensive weapons to Georgia. This is necessary to defend from Russian Federation and to restrain Russia from invasion to the Georgian territory. The priority for me and some more people is to persuade the USA government in giving to Georgia defensive weapon, "- McCain said.
He as well discussed successful reforms in Georgia and paid the special attention to the economic achievements.
