The level of general education in Georgia decreases dramatically especially among youth. Giorgi Targaamdze, leader of Christian Democrats said today when meeting with experts in education area.

"The area of education and science is one of the problematic in our society. The government says the education is expensive. But we will see how expensive will cost to us the uneducated people. The level of general education in Georgia especially among youth people decreased dramatically. This is a consequence of  educational policy, which is distinguished with its irrationality, "- Targamadze said.

He compares two ministers of Education - Kakha Lomaia and Dmitri Shashkin. He noted that Lomaia has a sharply decentralized policy towards schools. Now the extremity in the education system is that, it is absolutely monopolized.


At the same time MP said especially big problems are in area of science development. When the scientist has a salary no more than 220 GEL, this indicates to very hard social situation in the area. "We need a sharply defined policy, we will have a very rigid approach towards Education Minister. This is presupposed by our reality. We are getting the information constantly from the mass media that according to different polls Georgians are considered as one of the mostly ill educated nation, "- Targamadze said.
