Erik Furnie, French Envoy to Georgia sharply criticized the Georgian government for the absence of media freedom and democratic institutions. The information is disseminated by the Radio Freedom.
They informed the sharpest critic of Georgian government by the French envoy happens at the time of presentation of human rights report by the OSGF (Open Society Georgia Foundation).
The diplomat said he was surprised by words that ‘the EU support for Georgia seems like to be vain. And there is no any progress. In Georgia nothing was left from the European values!"
Furnie expressed his concern about hard pressure over media in Georgia. Government is against establishing of trade unions in this area for the defense of social rights of people. At the same time the punishing instruments are overdeveloped.
"This is simply a catastrophe I think we talk about the neo Bolshevik country. Europe will be forced to change its policy towards this country, " - Furnie said.
