Eka Beselia leader of the political movement "Solidarity for illegal prisoners" said the court decision in connection with the football player Giorgi Demetradze is groundless.

"This was an unjust decision and unjustified verdict, which the Tbilisi City Court took in connection with Giorgi Demetradze. Alongside with many other people, I as well believe that Giorgi Demetradze is innocent and the verdict against him is far from the just and fair decision, " - Beselia said.

"The accusations are based on the groundless phone conversations content. Nevertheless Court considered this as a ground for accusation in committing a crime. If the standard of Georgian Justice is measured by this case, then why are not alleged up to today MPs of National Movement Givi Targamadze after his well known phone conversation which touched far heavier crime, " - Beselia said.
For information, footballer is detained with allegation in having ties with criminal world on the ground of phone conversation. Court sentenced him for 6 years of imprisonment.
