Representative of New Rights Pikria Chikhadze sends an open letter to Georgian people. She said the Political 8 ended already its function. Now the new stage is to be performed. "The oppositional 8 has to develop its actions plan and I think the time comes when this goes beyond the scopes of political opposition to have larger scale for actions. Very responsible time is now, we have to pose a question are we a society or not, can we or not instead of passive estimations to act, be active, with the means that we have.
We have to use all available resources - our newspapers, our TV or radio programs, social networks, our circle of friends, different audiences - to show to everybody how dangerous is the obsession with power. The responsibility of all of us is to avoid from our country the immense danger of total stagnation or radical cataclysms. We have to break the vicious circle of 20 years heavy tradition to find the beginning o the new way. This is a third way this is a Georgian way - most easy, most cheap, most peaceful, most fair and most patriotic. Unfortunately it is not yet used in the 21-st century Georgia, "- the letter reads.
Chikhradzeas well noted that it is very important that the oppositional inclined society speak out openly and strictly about the refusal for the revolutionary development of political process. The society has to be courageous to say no to the election of Saakashvili for the one more term or any other responsible position. The society has to restrict the unchangeableness of a government and neither the forceful replacement of authorities is desirable. For Georgia it is vitally important to have a perspective and a precedent for the replacement of a government over fair elections process.
"I deeply believe nobody wishes in Georgia the model of Tunis-Egyptian revolution. But we are facing a dilemma, from one point of view Saakashvili will not recede for power over elections. This unfortunately is inalienable truth (on the background of 2010 Constitutional amendments and March 9 elections). From the other point of view the revolutionary changes in the country with two occupied territories will be a presupposition of statehood destruction, "- Chikhradze wrote.
