President Saakashvili said the sentence delivered by Georgian Court against Israeli citizens Rohn Fux and Zev Frenkel will not affect the Israeli-Georgian relations. Manana Manjgaladze, President's spokesperson said today during the briefing.
"We did not interfere in any stage of the investigation. The decision was taken by the Court. All are equal before the law despite of its originality. We believe this is not an interstate affair, " - Manjgaladze said.
The Press spokeswomen said President has a right to pardon any person, and the question is if president will do it for these two.
For information, Tbilisi City Court sentenced two Israeli citizens for bribery attempt of Georgian high rank. The Israeli businessmen were detained last year on October 14 in allegation of attempt for bribery of high rank. The third businessman is wanted.
Court sentenced them for 7 years of imprisonment (Fux) and 6 years of imprisonment (Frenkel). The news agency GHN was informed from the City Court that both are fined for 500 thousand GEL and 100 thousand Gel respectively. They are sentenced under the Georgian Criminal Code GCC article 339 part 3, - bribery
