The Turkish inventors conquered Ajara and destroyed  Georgian economy. The panarmenian.net published article with this heading. They paid attention to the Kars agreement and  the expansion of Turkish economy in Georgia. They noted that if the borders between Armenia and Turkey will  open, this will equal to the restoration of Turkish Ottoman Empire. The article reads that the 1921 Kars agreement was a sever blow not only for Armenia but as well for all South Caucasus and particularly for Georgia.
The article reads  the agreement except of dividing of the Armenian land as well stipulated the article about Ajara disputed territory. "According to the agreement in turn for the Ajara region Turkey got a free of charge Batumi port, concluding agreement with Russia about sovereign rights of Georgia for Ajara region."

According to the negotiation the Batumi port has to became a free economic zone for Georgia, Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. But after the USSR closed borders with Turkey, the agreement did not enter into the force, and Batumi did not became a free town. In 1992 the Georgian Parliament approved the Kars agreement and it was prolonged for the undefined time.

The Armenian edition reads that the Kars agreement gives to Ajara guaranties in status and religion, but in practice it does not work.

"In 2008 August Turkey gathered military forces at the Georgian-Turkish border in case if Russia would come near to the Georgian-Turkish border for 100 km distance. The Turkish Army was ready to invade the country to make a buffer zone on the Georgian territory. This time the Turkish side was directed not by the Kars agreement but according to the NATO member states status.

"What consequences were after the borders opening with Turkey,  Georgia has seen already. And the economy here does not exist at all, it is totally smashed by Turkish economy and companies, "- the edition reads. At the same time if Armenia will open borders with Turkey this will denote the restoration of Turkish Empire in fact.
