The USA will not recognize any state border between Georgia and Abkhazia, the Washington sees a border only between Georgia and Russia. The declaration was made by Michael Mc Folly, Aide in Eurasian questions.

"I believe today Georgia is more secure than it was 2 years ago. We were actively involved in this question, in Tbilisi and in Moscow, for making the region more secure. Nevertheless the situation is unstable up to today. The Russian Federation keeps the part of Georgia under its occupation. We consider for the improvement of the situation it is necessary to make much bigger efforts. We are declaring to the Russian Federation not to hope that USA will oppress Georgians. One more fundamental question is that Georgia and Russia are in dispute. This is a question of borders. In Georgia they believe this is a border between them and Russian Federation. In Moscow they said this is a border between them and Abkhazia. The most part of the world upholds our position in this question. We are admitting that this is a border of Georgian Republic but not of Abkhazia, "- he said.

He touched question of Russia's WTO membership and noted that the Washington consciously refuses to interfere with this question as it does not wish to play a role of mediator in Russian-Georgian question. This question has not to be politicized.
