On 5-9 December 2009 the Rustaveli Theatre hosts a workshop for 15 young Georgian theatre directors as part of a partnership project between itself and the UK's famous National Theatre. The partnership has been facilitated by the British Council and supported by BP and HSBC Bank Georgia.
James Macdonald has been invited to facilitate the workshop. He has successfully collaborated with the National Theatre for many years.

Last year he filmed A Number for HBO/BBC.
In Tbilisi, James Macdonald will lead a 5-day workshop, which will explore the directing of new plays, with particular reference to A NUMBER by Caryl Churchil and 4:48 PSYCHOSIS by Sarah Kane.
The aim of the Theatre Partnership Project is to help develop capacity in the theatre sector in Georgia by working with emerging directors, promoting new writing and engaging audiences in new work.
