The Georgian Party sends an address to USA President Barak Obama. Erosi Kitsmarishvili, chair of the Georgian Party declared today in the party's office at the press conference.
"The Georgian people respect democratic values and are inspired to establish them in real life. Nevertheless this aspiration is opposed by Saakashvili's government. The real democracy becomes unacceptable for him and the Georgian society and international community suggested only a surrogate of truth democracy."
In the statement is was underlined that the national TV channels were under obedience of government and became a tool for propagation. The phone tapping and interference with private life from the government is a usual breach of fundamental rights. No independent Justice and Court exists in Georgia. The police and special security services are totally politicized. The opposition is severely persecuted, any dissenting opinion as well. Tens of prisoners of conscience are suffering injustice. The right for property is annihilated and the interests of private business owners disregarded. The governmental clans are wholly controlling the business. The elections are totally falsified. In fact there is no democracy. The only reason is that Saakashvili through his illegitimate manipulations misappropriated the power in the country.
Unfortunately the sociological researches carried out by USA NGOs - NDI and IRI are not reflecting the real political, economic and social situation in the country. This is used by Saakashvili in own favor for different speculative actions.

The Georgian Party calls USA President to stop support for Saakashvili and to support Georgian people.
