Georgia will become a member of the Euroimages - the Council of Europe fund. Georgia will became a 35-th member of this fund. In connection with this occasion today on June 13 at 16:00 in the Ministry of Culture Tamar Tatishvili, director of the National Movie Center will hold a presentation. She will talk about the importance of the membership in Euroimages.
The presentation will attend Nikolos Rurua, Culture Minister, Goka Gabashvili, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee for Culture, representatives of the National Movie Center.
They declared in the National Movie Center that the affiliation of Georgia to this fund is a big success for Georgian culture. The source of financing for Georgian films will increase and the main is that Georgia will be presented at the international film festivals as a full member.
The 90% of the fund is intended for the co-production development. From the day of its establishment the Council of Europe supported more than 1300 European films for co-production (movie and documentary films) totally for the EUR 407 bn. For the 2010 the budget of the Euroimages reached EUR 21 mn.
