Eka Beselia, leader of the political movement Solidarity for Illegal Prisoners calls law enforcers to be cautious. She recalls the events of protest action dispersing in 2009 June 15. At that time the peaceful protest action was held by youth political parties' organizations in front of the Police main Office.
"They were not in breach of any norms, the protest was peaceful and in distance from the main entrance - on the other side of a street. Nevertheless more than 300 police officers and employers of Police Department without uniform using rubber and iron button violently dispersed the protest action. Not women neither journalists were saved from its violent actions. Journalists were expropriated cameras and documentary films. 99 people were severely beaten. The crime was committed by government, because of which I addressed to the Chief Procurator in June of 2009 for review the criminal liability question of MIA's Minister Merabishvili. The investigation started but this was only a formal step. Up to now no investigative actions were taken. This was noted in the USA State Department's resolution. A few time ago the Amnesty International declared as well that the cases of peaceful protesters were not investigated, " - Beselia said.
Beselia said that the investigative today is the same party which commits the crime, this makes in the country the total feeling of no punishable. The law enforcers are obliged to be alert in connection with such facts and to keep in mind these cases.
