Gia Gvazava, Chair of the Abkhazian legitimate Higher Council said in connection with initiative about recognition of Abkhazian state that he categorically disagrees with this question. In such case the existence of Georgia will be questionable.

"I was very surprised with this declaration of expert in Caucasian questions Mamuka Areshidze. He is very valuable expert but this time the grounds for this idea are unacceptable. His visions are mistaken: If Georgia will declare about the independence of its region this will cause the abolition of existence of our state, the partition of a state. Many other regions will raise the same question. Among them Tskhinvali. This will cause partition of our state. Moreover in Russian Federation the theme of parting of Georgia to the Western and Eastern part is very popular. This will follow with the partition of these two parts. Step-by-step our country will be dissolved. Our position should be steady, even for 100 years passing; we should demand return of our territory. We should wait to the forces in Abkhazian ethnos who will understand its mistake and will agree to dialogue, "- GHN reports.

He noted that the return of refugees is impossible to Abkhazia in turn of recognition of independence of this state and the conflict cannot be resolved by recognition of independence. The assimilation is very fast in this nation, and Gvazava agrees with expert in this question. He said it will be very sad if this nation will disappear. But it is a question if Abkhazians wish to establish relations with Georgians. After Abkhazians,  Georgians may face the same problem and the slogan "Georgia without Georgians!" comes to mind more frequently.
