If Russia decides to invade Georgia it can be done without Mistral-type military ships, Giorgi Baramidze, Integration Minister said.
When interviewing by the Le Monde, Baramidze said concerning Mistral sale to Russian Federation, that Georgia respects decision of French Republic.
"France is a close friend of Georgia but let's follow logic. We are talking not about a military decision but about a political one. This is an assaulting but not defensive tool. Against which country Russia is going to use it? It is clear not against NATO, otherwise France would not allow this dealing. At Black sea only Ukraine and Georgia are objects. If Russia wished to invade Georgia this would happen earlier without Mistrals. Than where: to Northern Korea, in South Korea, to Japan? I doubt, "- Baramidze said.
He said Russia establishes bilateral relations with France, as it was a case with Germany. Russia wishes to represent itself in positive light before NATO and other members of EU and to watch the changing relations towards it, "- Baramidze said.
