The suggestion to establish the political-economic union with Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia (TAG) was expressed by Akhmed Shirinov Director of Strategic Planning.
It is interesting that ideas for establishing alternate economic unions were discussed on different levels in Azerbaijan. The principle of functioning of the TAG will be the same as it is in EU, the vesti.az reports.
The advantages for this union as Shirionv said appears to be the total isolation for Armenia and its final detachment from its partner Russia. In such case of common principles for travel around TAG Azerbaijan can impose restrictions for Armenian citizens.
The economic advantages for such union are evident. Azerbaijan intensely works under the common market which will be broadened. He underlined that for Georgia the advantage for such union is clear, as it now exists only at the expense of Azerbaijan and Turkey. Georgia will gain even more than two other countries. Expert believes such union will be welcome not only in Europe but as well in Azia. For businessmen this will give an opportunity to get direct transport access to EU over Turkey.
