Today on May 26 at 18:00 marking the international day in support of victims of torture, the Human Rights Center in Tbilisi, The Rehabilitation Center for victims of torture, Union "Sapari" and Article 42 of Constitution in The Square named after the April 9 (Former Alexandrov's Square) will hold a public gathering in support of victims of torture.
The organizers of a protest action declared the slogan of the event will be "Georgia - a zone free from torture."
The exhibition of tools used for torture will be arranged. At 19:00 particiants of the protest action will move to the Pupils' Palace at Rustaveli avenue to hold a performance.
The aim of the event is to attract attention of a pulic to the facts of torture. They are calling the government not to allow the facts of torture an inhuman and degrading treatment an dto investigate all such facts.
