Today on June 29 in Strasbourg the CoE Monitoring Committee will discuss the report on Georgia.
Jean Lois Loran, Director General of CoE Directorate for political questions and democracy made a report concerning fulfillment by Georgian Republic obligations taken before the CoE.
The report touches as well last reforms in the country and achieved success. Namely the work carried out against corruption discussed. The current reforms in the Justice system are reviewed.
At the same time the CoE addressed to Georgia with recommendations. Among them to make possible the amendments to elections code at least for half a year before actual elections. By the way Georgia gets recommendations in connection with ethnic minorities living in Georgia.
Mamuka Jzdenti, permanent representative to CoE said this report is "very positive".
