The Russian government expressed its willingness to aid the population in Abkhazian village Aigba. The case is that village population "asks" Russian Federation to join the Russian Federation. The information is disseminated in the Russian media based on the results of negotiations between Russia and Abkhazia and on borders delimitation-demarcation intergovernmental commission work.
According to the information the Abkhazian de-facto government is not willing yet to agree to this question. The Russian Federation wishes to seize the northern-west part of Gagra region within own border limits. The Russian Federation said that previously one part of village Aigba was situated within the border limits of Russian SSR and the other part was on the territory of Georgian Soviet Socialistic Republic.
The Russian media informs that last week the law enforcers from Adler region arrived to the village and promised the local population to help in disputable questions and to defend its interests. At the same time the "Russian delegation" promised the population to help with the electricity supply, the village is deprived of electricity from 1990's.
The question of passing to RF 160 squire km territory on the northern part of the republic was raised earlier several month ago. The Abkhazian population was extremely negatively disposed to this question. After the appointment of new presidential elections (after death of Sergey Bagapsh) this question will be discussed.
