The Assembly General of UN passed the initiated by Georgia resolution project on "IDPs and refugees status in Abkhazia and S.O.", news agency GHN reports.
The resolution was upheld by 57 states, 13 were against, 74 abstained. This showed that the number of supporters for Georgia was increased. In 1020 the resolution was supported by 50 states.
The resolution calls for the developing of a schedule for the return of refugees and all IDPs. Moreover this is underlined by the necessity to keep the property rights of all IDPs and refugees. At the same time the resolution warns to refrain form the purchasing of the property in breach of these rights o IDPs and refugees.
It was underlined that it is not admissible to change the demographic situation forcefully and necessity to provide IDPs and refugees with unhindered access to property in humanitarian purposes.
