"In connection with the status of Abkhazia there are not negotiations perspectives for today, but the in the "postsaakashvli's period" we will face the necessity to discuss our political coexistence and make an agreement, " - Irakli Alasania, leader of Free Democrats said to GHN in response to the initiative of Mamuka Areshidze to recognize the independence of Abkhazia.
"Today we have no perspectives to negotiate with them on political status, so we have to discuss with them the problem to making our societies closer. The closer economic, trade and infrastructure projects will be implemented for this reason. However Saakahsvili has not recourses for making this. But in the period after Saakashvili this may became real, "- Alasania said to GHN.
He said the status of Abkhazia might be discussed after the trust will be restored among the population.
"We first of all have to restore our relations. And the time will come when the political questions will be discussed openly. The talks about the status will be possible according to the international law norms. We have to agree about its political status in the frames of our state borders. But before we have to pass a difficult and hard way," - Alasania said.
