Georgia is ready to hold negotiations with any party who has an appropriate mandate, legitimacy and resources in questions of refugees return and rejoining of occupied territories. Nino Kalandzdze, Deputy Foreign Minister said today during the traditional briefing in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs commenting the declaration of Alexander Anquab, acting President in so-called Abkhazia.
Kalandadze at the same time said that the Georgian party cannot accept declarations of Alexander Anquab as a legitimate party, as he have not a status of a president from the Abkhazian population.
"Nowadays the regions in Tskhinvali and S.O. are occupied. Abkhazia is under the rule of persons appointed by Russian Federation. They have no official mandate. They have not a mandate from the Abkhazian population which they have to get from refugees as well. That's why the Georgian party cannot accept declarations o such persons as legitimate, "- she said.
For information, Alexander Anqvab, so-called acting President in Abkhazia said he unlike Russian federation, does not see any connection with the regulation of Georgian-Abkhazian relations with the question of Saakashvili's presidency.
