The Alia Holding demands to lift secrecy form the case of detained Georgian photographers. They were detained yesterday with allegation of espionage for some foreign country, GHN reports.
The special statement of the Alia Holding reads that not the organization Alia, neither relatives nor close friends of photo correspondent Giorgi Abdaladze are not aware about the details of the case which MIA investigates under the security classification
"It is unimaginable that the detained persons have had such information, which would not be accessible for the intelligence services of other states, taking into consideration the modern technologies. If the case about the obtaining and dissemination of the information, then this is a direct responsibility of all journalists... we demand explanations in what guilt are they accused."
For information, MIA detained 4 photo reporters with allegation in espionage against Georgian state. Among them private photo reporter of Georgian President. They are: Gia Abdaladze (Foreign Minsitry's photographer), Shakh Aivazov (Associated Press photo reporter), Zurab Kurtsikidze (photographer of Press Photo Europe), private photographer of Georgian President Irakli Gedenidze and his wife Natia Gedenidze.
According to MIA detained persons are alleged under the GCC art 314.
This crime stipulates keeping of secret materials concerning Georgian government, for the purpose of its passing to the foreign countries organizations of representations. And the conduction of the surveillance against interests of Georgian state. Such crime is punishable for the 8-12years of imprisonment.
