Abkhazia and S.O. will be rejoined to Georgia and sooner or later the Abkhazian question as well the South Ossetia question will be decided with help of Russian Federation, Eduard Shevardnadze, ex-President said, in his interview with Russian radio "Moscow's Echo", GHN reports.
He believes that at any cost Georgians have to find ways to establish communication with Russian Federation, to live together in good neighborhood relations. Russia is a great country, it is strong. Russians occupied almost all Georgian territory. We have to establish friendly relations with Russian Federation. This is a real perspective for us. Now we have two occupied regions, but I am disposed optimistically. I believe that the relations with Russian Federation will be improved and the Abkhazian and S.O. question will be decided over the support of Russian Federation.
He said that the political inclinations will change with the time passing and Medvediev will not refuse negotiations with Saakashvili; and Saakashvili will try to establish relations with Russia. Russia as well may change its decision about the sovereignty of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
Shevardnadze underlined during his work as a Foreign Minster in RF he never was mistaken in his prognoses. He supposed the dissolution of the USSR in 8-10 years. But was mistaken it happen earlier.
He said the recognition of sovereignty of South Ossetia was a big mistake from Russian Federation. Becouse the same rule may apply to other regions in Russian Federation.
