Georgia has some chances to take back South Ossetia but Abkhazia got the independence from Russian Federation and never will recede, Alexander Rar, German political scientist said in his interview with "Vestnik Cavkaza's " European bureau, GHN reports.
He underlined that the present state of affairs are not advantageous to either of the neighbors and the relations between Russia and Georgia should be regulated. These two countries are still on the verge of the conflicts. If think philosophically then the relations may change when the present authorities in Georgia and Russia will be changed, because they actually were involved in the August war 2008.
In Georgia the Presidential elections in 2013 will be conducted without Sakashvili. So some other person at the post of a President will try to normalize relations with Russian Federation. But the situation in Russian Federation is far more complicated, Putin will never pass the power to other person, he will became a President again or will rule over the country as a Prime Minister or a head of the Parliament. I think that for Russia it is disadvantageous to have bad relations with Georgia, as well for Georgia this is not good case. This question is very painful but most of all suffers Georgia, as the return of Abkhazia and South Ossetia never will happen.
The problem is not Russia in Abkhazian question, but Abkhazians themselves will never agree to give up its sovereignty. It defends own statehood. I would say that with the time passing Abkhazia will be recognized with other republics as well among them Turkey. I think this is quite real, I suppose then several states anyway will have very good relations with Abkhazia. And Abkhazia will be able to survive. And not only survive but as well to develop as a sovereign state.
