Eka Beselia, leader of the movement solidarity for Prisoners of Conscience said in the case of photo reporters the government was defeated against the society.
"This is an admittance of a defeat by the government. They were defeated in the case with photo reporters. The government could not resist to the legal argumentations which we made. The government admitted this defeat in tree respects: 1 it forced Giorgi Abdaladze to demand the replacement of his Defense lawyers, as we were resisting to the investigation with real force and we were replaced over the restricted method; 2. government could not persuade the public in having the proofs of the espionage; 3. government has to release the detained photo reporters (this happens at least on demand). This is a defeat of the government.
