Mikhail Saakashvili. President of Georgia suggested to USA to use the territory of Georgia for the military purposes of NATO against extremist "Taliban" in Afghanistan, GHN reports.
The Russian agency RBK, informed that Mikhail Saakashvili in his interview with Associated Press said that he is ready to make available the sea ports and airports of Georgian state for military use of NATO aircrafts and ships.
Saakashvili said that this will make a corridor through which weapons will be supplied through Georgia and Central Asia to Afghanistan.
Pentagon representatives said that its Office is informed about this suggestion of Georgian president, but they did not studied yet in details this suggestion.
According to President the realization of this idea will not irritate Russia as it is interested in antiterrorist operation in Afghanistan. 900 Georgian soldiers are serving in NATO military operation in Iraq and Afghanistan.
