Today in Batumi, Giorgi Baramidze, vice Prime Minister met with Stephano Manservis, General Director of European Commission Internal Affairs Directorate. The parties discussed Gerogia-EU relations questions; among them the question of a rule of law, security and migration reforms in Georgia. Special attention was paid to the fight against organized crime and corruption, neighborhood policy, integrated management of the border, safety of travel documentations and ID cards. They discussed the importance of the migration management and future strengthening of efforts in this direction.
The visa regime simplification and readmission agreements questions were stressed to be implemented in full. The violations which take place in several EU countries from the Consulate services towards Georgian citizens concerning the new agreement in Shngen visas issue over the simplified rules. The EU party expressed its willingness to pay special attention to the mentioned insufficiencies for avoiding such problems for Georgian citizens.
The perspectives of visa-free regime were discussed and in this respect the actions plan introduction for the next year. They discussed as well the cooperation with EU in the frames of "Partnership for mobility". The legitimate means for the employment of Georgian migrants in EU countries and adequate defence its rights.
The meeting was held under the 8-th meeting of the international conference "European Way of Georgia" in Batumi.
